Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Hike:
What is the 52 Hike Challenge?
This challenge is partnered with REI and Tecnu through 52hikechallenge.com
Essentially, you go on 52 hikes throughout 12 months. This comes down to about 1 hike per week.
The Challenge includes resources on hiking including where to find trails (and their difficulty level!). The higher up packages include goodies and discounts as you will see below.
It's really that simple. Go. Hike. Win.
Hiking 2020: Palomar Mountain, CA
Hiking Resolution:
We are starting out the new year on the right foot- literally!- with 52 hikes in a year.
With our first hike completed on 1/1/2021, we have joined the 52 Hike Challenge to inspire and ecourage us to maintain staying active and exploring.
To us, Travel means quality family time and hiking is an amazing way to accomplish that goal while having a great adventure.
Bringing our kids along just adds to the special moments as we revisit old trails and check out new ones, all through the eyes of our little ones.
The best part: You don't need to start in January- the challenge is for the 12 months after you take your first hike.

So which Package will you choose? That depends on what you value out of the different perks.
We purchased the Ultimate Package mainly for the AllTrails discount, medal, and physical journal. Definitely looking into the other discounts we get from it.
Debating which Package? If you are not sure, I would say start with the Free Package, and if you are enjoying yourself and the resources, then definitely upgrade to one of the other packages.
AllTrails is a free app, there are just additional features in the Pro version which is what the Standard and Ultimate packages have discounts for (along with discounts for other products).
What Else is There? Click this link and see for yourself. On the "Sign Up" Tab, they list all of their series, including 3 different levels/versions of the 52 Hikes Challenge, and a Challenge for Pets!
